Description
The Atoraa Automatic Load Control Relay, A9-ALCR is a UL 924 listed emergency lighting control device. This device is designed to ensure a “lights on state” during a power outage. The A9-ALCR senses when a power outage occurs and switches on the connected emergency lighting load to full brightness, bypassing any normal lighting switches and dimmer controls.
An Automatic Load Control Relay (ALCR) is a device that controls the power supply to emergency lighting, ensuring it remains on during a power outage, while also allowing normal lighting controls to function during a regular operation. It essentially bypasses normal lighting controls and forces emergency lights to full brightness when normal power is lost.
-
Normal Operation: During normal power conditions, the ALCR allows normal lighting controls (like switches) to function as expected, controlling both normal and emergency lighting.
-
Emergency Situation: When normal power is lost, the ALCR automatically switches the emergency lighting to full brightness, overriding any dimmer settings or switch positions.
-
UL 924 Listed: Many ALCRs are UL 924 listed, meaning they meet safety standards for emergency lighting equipment.
-
0-10V Dimming Override: ALCRs can also override 0-10V dimming controls on emergency fixtures, ensuring they operate at full brightness when needed.
-
Fire Alarm Integration: Some ALCRs can be connected to fire alarm systems, triggering the emergency lighting upon alarm activation
